A massive construction site for many years, today Potsdamer Platz is again attracting millions of people. Just a short walk in the direction of the Brandenburg Gate will bring you to the Science Center Medical Technology.
Designed by Gnädinger Architects in Berlin, the building’s façade tells the story of what the Science Center is all about on the inside.
The façade is designed to resemble the structure of muscle fibres. Even from a long distance away, you can make out the two models of the sensory and motor homunculi on the roof of the building. When the sun sets, the “walker” media installation functions as a discreet eye-catcher, drawing attention to the façade.
